Harmon Industries Breaks Ground on Grain Valley Expansion

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (Friday, May 2, 1997) -- Harmon Industries, Inc. today breaks ground on a 17,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Grain Valley.
The new Grain Valley site will provide state-of-the-art facilities, and support for future growth and new processes including surface mount technology. It also will offer some additional office space and a new parking area.
"This is an exciting development for Harmon Industries," said Björn Olsson, president and chief executive officer of Harmon. "This expansion is a reflection of the significant growth we've experienced, and is in preparation for growth we're expecting through the year 2,000."
According to Harmon Industries, the expansion will provide space for up to 70 new manufacturing jobs, which are expected to be created during the next few years.
The construction contract for the facility has been awarded to Meyer Brothers Building Company of Blue Springs. Completion is expected in late October of this year.
