BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (Wednesday, August 16 1995) -- The Financial Executives Institute (FEI) has named Charles M. "Chuck" Foudree, executive vice president-finance and chief financial officer of Harmon Industries, to serve on its board of directors for a three-year term.
FEI, headquartered in Morristown, NJ, is a leading advocate for the views of corporate financial management. Its 14,000 members in 91 North American chapters hold policy-making positions as chief financial officers, treasurers, vice presidents of finance and controllers at nearly 8,000 companies throughout the United States and Canada, including virtually all of the 1,000 largest corporations.
Foudree was president of the Kansas City chapter of the FEI in 1989-90 and has been active in the organization for 13 years. He brings to the board nearly 30 years of experience in financial management, including 23 years at Harmon Industries.
"The FEI is a very important organization in the financial community," said Foudree. "The organization's positive influence over regulatory bodies and national accounting policies and boards has been a great asset to the accounting field. I am proud to serve on its board and further contribute to the FEI."
Foudree is active in both the Kansas City community and in the financial management arena. He currently serves on the board of directors of Harmon Industries, Inc.; OTR Express, Olathe, Kan.; Vale Harmon Enterprises, Ltd., Saint-Laurent, Quebec, Canada; KineticSystems Corporation, Lockport, Ill.; and serves on the advisory board of Mark Twain Bank, Kansas City, Mo.
Professionally, Foudree is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accounting and the National Association of Corporate Treasurers.
In the Kansas City community, Foudree is chairman of the administrative board of Christ United Methodist Church in Independence, Mo., is a board member of the Foundation Alumni Association of Metropolitan Community Colleges and is active in the Rotary Club of Independence, Mo.
A native of Huntsville, Mo., Foudree is a 1966 cum laude graduate of Northeast Missouri State University (NMSU) in Kirksville. After graduating, he earned his CPA and spent six years with KMPG Peat Marwick in Kansas City before joining Harmon in 1972.
In April 1995, Foudree served as the Executive-in-Residence at NMSU, bringing practical experience and knowledge to accounting and business students during a three-day stay.
